I don't think this is a problem but I've noticed that one of my HD's is continually writing in a rhythmic fashion like a persistent heartbeat -- even when I'm not running any programs or a scan.

Any thought as to what this could be?

Does this hdd contain you operating system?

Have you looked in the Task Manager to see what applications are running?

Is the "heartbeat" abnormally sounding? If so it may be your hard drive on its last legs.

Either way you might want to back up as a precaution
If I am helping you and I do not respond within 24 hours, please send me a PM. :)
