i recently installed fresh windows xp service pack3 on my pc. Every thing went ok but sound drivers are not installed properly. I install all drivers from cd which was given to me at the time of purchase and everytime, my all drivers (including sound) are installed perfectly. Now when i uninstall drivers through Add/Remove(from control panel), one error of failure comes but when i press ok then uninstallation process completes and computer restarts and then i reinstall drivers but still same problem. when i open volume control, i get message "audio mixer not available........"
i know that if i reinstall windows again then problem will be solved but i don't want to reinstall all the softwares as i updated many softwares and everything is perfect(except sound)......
any solution for this person,

I would suggest making sure your drivers are the latest for your soundcard; often those that are included when you purchase the card have been superseded by later versions.
