Last night i ran windows update and there was 1 update "C Media Electronics Incorporation - Sound - C-Media AC97 Audio Device" and since this update i no longer have any sound for anything. All it does it beep from the tower whenever a pop up box appears with a message.

Windows Media Player displayed this message when i attemped to play an audio file "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly"

I know there is a sound device as it was working prior the update. If it is the update, how do i remove it?
