Hello, folks. I am confused whether my computer's software is ME or Windows 2000 (I probably think it is ME), so I am posting this message on two different sections, one on ME section, and this one on Windows 2000 thread.

I really like a little help here. My PC is stuck in safe mode, regardless of how many times I re-start. Even if I click persistently the F8 and use the 'normal' mode, it will still start in safe mode. Nothing is helping me so far. I have researched this forum, and I didn't find any helpful tips.

Thanks in advance.

If you are running windows ME try this. While in safe mode hit the start button and select the run option. In the run window type scanreg /restore. Follow the on screen instructions from that point on. Make sure to put a space between scanreg and the /.
I plan to live forever , so far , plan is working.

Thank you, Hays. I will try that later on tonight when I got home.

By the way, I can access Internet while the computer is in Safe Mode. Does that say anything relevant?

Oh, how wonderful! Thank you so much, Hays47. Your simple suggestion suddenly worked.

You know I was at a public place earlier, searching and printing up a lot of suggestions, ready for a fight with my computer tonight. I started with yours, which was the easiest and simplest of them all--and guess what??? There it is is, fresh as a cookie!

PS, it is a bit slower surfing the net, but I can understand since the memory is new and not acquainted for the Internet yet.

Thank you again.
