My son's computer is infected with Antivirus XP 2008. I also am unable to access the internet to download any of the software suggested to remove this virus.

I have gone in to safe mode and deleted all the files associated with the virus that I could find. I used F8 to do a system restore which stopped the computer for logging off automatically, but now I am stuck and without using some kind of virus removing software I'm not sure what to do next.

Have you tried Safemode w/networking?
You can download tools like Superantispyware and Malwarebytes to a thumb drive or burn to a CD

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
