I am new to this topic and I have the following problem to translate into structured English. Can someone help me with this?

Using structured English, write a procedure for carrying out the process of entering a new client name, address, and phone/fax umber. (Hint: The procedure should ask for a client name, check to see if the name is already in an existing client file, and let the user either validate and update the current client address and phone/fax number, if necessary, or add a new client's address and phone/fax number to the client file.)

Look at this:

Then show us what you have, and we will see if we can help you.

Would it be this?

IF the client’s name is in an existing file
THEN validate current address and phone/fax number
OR update current address and phone/fax number
ELSE IF the client’s name is not in an existing file
THEN add the new client’s name, address, and phone/fax number
ENDIF

Something like that. Each individual action should be it's own statement though. For example

IF client does not exist
THEN Add Client name...

Other than that, it looks fine to me.
