Computer was slow and slowing further everytime it was used. I have used spybot, ad-aware, stopzilla and symantec. scans run and show fixes and complete tasks. Spy bot gets stuck on the virtumonde files and locks up the computer. I have to reboot or i would never have found the files. Now that I have watched spybot run through the files it scans there are alot of these virtumonde files on this computer. this computer is primarly on facebook , utube and other misc site (kids computer). still runs but slow. The computer stays on almost always. it has no problem restarting. when opening internet explorer it takes along time.

Can this spread to other computers on our home network?
What are the best ways to protect each of my computers? Big question i know- Norton, spybot, ad-aware, stopzilla, symantic... and should they all be running at the same time? aliitle confused.

thanks for your help.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.
