How do I change the registered name of a computer? I changed the computer name, and account user, but I would like to know how to change the registered user name, also (and I think it will change once the registered name is changed) I would like to know how to rename the folder in the C:\Documents and Settings? Right now it says the old name and when I try to rename it says it cant because it is a windows system folder.

The easy way would be to create a new account with the name you want. Copy all the files to the new account and delete the old account.

Hope This Helps

Since then involves a registry edit, I suggest that heed all precautions suggested for such.
