Hello-just joined this forum. I have had a rash of malware lately. The most recent one attempted to install a rogue antispyware program called "MS Antispyware 2009." Malwarebytes and Windows Defender were powerless to clean it, as were online scanners (they would run and then stop midway.)
As I was attempting to clean with one of the online scanners-I got a warning that something was very wrong with one of the files. The pc froze, and I had to just manually shut it down. When I tried to reboot i couldn't-something wrong with winlogon.exe I had to go to Safe Mode, and do the System Restore.
Now that I have restored my PC is still acting funny-not completely shutting down, and I have gotten a warning from AVG that there is a infected file "zief.pl/rc/" on my computer. From what I can see from Googling-this is a new bug.
I was advised to do Combo Fix (which I did-but I still see the "zief" threat warning on AVG)
I know I am not supposed to post Combofix logs unless asked to.
What should I do now? I think there is something going on with my PC but I don't know for sure. Can anyone help?
Thanks!

Looks like the route you need to take any way.
We need to run HJT.
Please follow this guide. go and do steps 6 and 7 ,, Preparation Guide For Use Before Using Hijackthis. Then go here HijackThis Logs and Virus/Trojan/Spyware/Malware Removal ,click New Topic, give it a relevant Title and post that complete log.

Let me know it it went OK !

Now that your log is properly posted, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a HJT Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show it the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the HJT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the HJT Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another HJT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

If after 5 days you still have received no response, then post a link to your HJT log in the thread titled "Post in this thread when you haven't received an answer in five days.".

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic.

Hello wthsthat?!,

I see that you posted a topic with logs in the HiJack This log forum yesterday here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic200526.html

I will keep that one as it contains more complete information and delete the one here http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic200626.html which you posted today as a duplicate.

Having more than one topic on the same issue confuses things for everyone and delays the assistance you receive.
