Hello to all computer people! I am new to this forum. I love working with computers and helping others with computer questions as much as I can. I have probably intermediate knowledge of PC workings. Lately, my PC has been hit hard by some malware that I have had a difficult time getting rid of. I have used Malwarebytes AM and Windows Defender, and AVG but this latest pack bugs has been tough.
I work in the education field. In my off time, I enjoy playing the guitar. Looking at a guitar tablature site (that WOT and AVG Site Adviser said were ok!) recently, I got hit by a bunch of junk that tried to install a rogue program called "MS Antispyware 2009." In fact, I used to think that the times I have been hit by trojans/malware were my own fault by going to less than desireable sites. Lately I have not come close to any sites that are not known for malware distribution. I think there is a wave of this junk going out lately and fooling "site advisory" agents in the process. Also, our school system's webmail server has come to experience a rash of phishing attempts and spam.
I would love to learn more from the great people on this forum about how to secure and make my PC work its best, especially since we seem to having a new wave of black-hatted garbage threatening us!
