Hi,

Your system is severly infected. Problem with these infections nowadays is, it causes a lot of damage. Even if we clean the malware off your system, I can't guarantee that your system will be clean afterwards, because these infections/bundles leave a lot of leftovers behind that most scanners won't even recognise and logs won't show.
Also, I can't promise you we can repair all the damage it caused... Even after cleaning the malware, you can still get errors afterwards because of the damage. Solving these is not always possible since it will be searching for a needle in a haystack to find the right cause and solution.
So, we can try to clean this up and do what we can, but keep in mind that we can't solve ALL problems this malware already caused.

In light of this it would be wise for you to back up any files and folders that you don't want to lose before we start. Reason I am telling this is because when a system is so terribly infected and we try to clean this up manually, the damage that is already present may interfere with our removal attempts.

Also, I notice from your log that there's more than 1 Antivirus installed. AVG and Norton/Symantec AntiVirus Client
.
Never install more than one Antivirus and Firewall! Rather than giving you extra protection, it will decrease the reliability of it seriously!
The reason for this is that if both products have their automatic (Real-Time) protection switched on, your system may lock up due to both software products attempting to access the same file at the same time.
Also because more than one Antivirus and Firewall installed are not compatible with eachother, it can cause system performance problems and a serious system slowdown.

So you have to make a decision here and keep the Antivirus you prefer and uninstall the other one.
Then reboot after uninstalling.

Then, * Please visit this webpage for instructions for downloading and running ComboFix:

Post the log from ComboFix in your next reply.

Please make sure you disable ALL of your Antivirus/Antispyware/Firewall before running ComboFix..This because Security Software may see some components ComboFix uses as suspicious and blocks the tool, or even deletes it.Please visit HERE if you don't know how.

Thank you very much for your help I put my combo fix log file below. I have uninstalled AVG and Symantec AV Client. After that I have installed McAfee temporarily just to see what can it find.
I disabled McAfee before running ComboFix. I will probably uninstall McAfee after trial period and return back to AVG.
Thanks.

Hi,

Open notepad and copy and paste next present in the quotebox below in it:
(don't forget to copy and paste REGEDIT4)

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\windows]
"AppInit_DLLs"=""

Save this as fix.reg Choose to save as *all files and place it on your desktop.
It should look like this: Posted Image
Doubleclick on it and when it asks you if you want to merge the contents to the registry, click yes/ok.

Navigate to and delete the following file:

c:\windows\stsheets.dat

This is a leftover from an older CWS variant infection. It can't/won't do anything though, because the file is 0 bytes, so if you leave it or not, it won't make a difference :thumbup2: .

The rest looks OK again.

Then, * Go to start > run and copy and paste next command in the field:

ComboFix /u

Make sure there's a space between Combofix and /
Then hit enter.

This will uninstall Combofix, delete its related folders and files, reset your clock settings, hide file extensions, hide the system/hidden files and resets System Restore again.

Let me know in your next reply how things are now.

Thanks, I did the things you said. It seems ok for now.
Is there any tool that I can clean up whats left behind from ComboFix?
For example there are a lot of log files...etc. left under
C:\Documents and Settings
Thank you

Hi,

Uninstalling Combofix should delete the Combofix related logs and files though. But those are not located under the Documents and settings.
I guess you mean these random files present there, INDDB8.... files?
Are these textfiles? What's inside them?

Can you upload one of these logfiles here?:

So I can see with what they are related, or what program created them. In anyway, you can safely delete these logfiles anyway. :thumbup2:

I did upload to that location. I am not sure if those are all that left behind , if there are more files to be cleaned up do you have any recommendations?
Thank you

Hi,

If you delete those files or not, it's not a big deal as they won't do anything :thumbup2:

if there are more files to be cleaned up do you have any recommendations?

Not sure what you mean by that. We already removed the malware related files, so I don't see what other files should be cleaned. Don't fix when it aint broken. :)

Anyway...

Please read my Prevention page with lots of info and tips how to prevent this in the future.
And if you want to improve speed/system performance after malware removal, take a look here.
Extra note: Make sure your programs are up to date - because older versions may contain Security Leaks. To find out what programs need to be updated, please run the Secunia Software Inspector Scan.
