Ok, I can't find anywhere else I could put this.
I have Windows Vista. I keep a copy of combofix on my computer at all times.
I went to do a scan today and it said there was a new version. So I updated it, and whenever I run the new version of it, it pops up saying "prep.com has stopped working"

Anyone know why?...

ComboFix is an extremely powerful tool which should only be used when instructed to do so by someone who has been properly trained. Using this tool incorrectly could lead to disastrous problems with your operating system such as preventing it from ever starting again.

Hi,

You do know that combofix is not Vista compatible and may leave it in a corrupted state that will require a reinstall.

Hello.

Hi,

You do know that combofix is not Vista compatible and may leave it in a corrupted state that will require a reinstall.

Actually, it is compatible with Vista and usually will not damage your computer, unless the user does something that he shouldn't of done and created a disaster. Bottom line do not use Combofix unless instructed, it's a powerful tool and misusing it can cause various problems. As usasma has already said:

ComboFix is an extremely powerful tool which should only be used when instructed to do so by someone who has been properly trained. ComboFix is intended by its creator to be "used under the guidance and supervision of an expert", NOT for private use. Please read Combofix's Disclaimer. I know what I'm doing, I assure you. I wasn't asking how to use it, I was asking why it was doing that.
And as for you RedDawn, it is too. I've used it on VIsta plenty.
