Rapidly tap the F8 key starting just before the Windows splash screen shows up. This should get you the options for Safe Mode, etc. Hopefully, at the top of the list will be the option to "Repair my computer". Select that and run Startup Repair.
If this doesn't work, then try it by booting from your Vista DVD - and select "Repair this computer" in the lower left of the second screen (press Enter when you're at the first screen).
