I'm not even on my own computer because it won't allow me to go to this web site. I have Windows XP & I am using firefox. my anti virus scan says it can't clean generic downloader.x & vundo, files gsdrgfdrrgnd.dll & hgGwTjgH.dll in C:Windows/sstem 32. I also get pop-ups Dr Watson postmortem debugger has encountered a problem & needs to close, I also get this for internet explorer which I'm not even using.

One of my biggest problems is I can't run spy bot or Malwarebytes, Adaware runs but tends to hang up & it doesn't seem to solve anything. I have even tried starting my computer in safe mode & still couldn't run spybot or malewarebytes.

I've run out of options & don't know what to do next?!?!? Please help.

I will probably check backin the morning since this computer isn't at my house.

Thanks & regards, Vicki

Some types of malware will disable MBAM and other security tools. If MBAM will not install, try renaming it.
  • Right-click on the mbam-setup.exe file and rename it to mysetup.scr.
  • Change the .exe extension to .scr, .com, .pif, or .bat.
  • Then double-click on mysetup.bat to run.
  • If after installation, MBAM will not run, open the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware folder in Program Files.
  • Right-click on mbam.exe and rename it to myscan.
  • Change the .exe extension in the same way as noted above.
  • Then double-click on myscan.scr to run.
