I recently had a temp file 'randomly' appear in my recycle bin, which when I tried to delete it displayed an error message - DC1 is in use: Access is denied. Since this, my PC's performance has seriously diminished. I managed to remove the temp file by deleting and recreating my user account but performance is still poor (CPU usage regularly hits 25% or more). This leads me to believe that DC1, whatever it is, is running as a background process, hence the CPU usage.
When I googled DC1 the results implied it was malware, related to W32/Silly-FD, and as such I have run a variety of Malware, Trojan & Bot search/removal tools, both from the desktop and in Safe Mode, and found nothing.
I have also tried Hijack This and Process Explorer and, with my limited knowledge, gone through the results and can't see anything obvious.
Anybody got any ideas?
