I was trying to format my hard drive and i screwed up and did it wrong. I have all my files and information saved so i am good there. What I think I did wrong was I erased all partitions on my hard drive and now doesn't matter what I do, right after my first load screen it comes up with a black screen saying"Error loading operating system. Ive tried loading from my windows xp disk and i keep getting the same thing. I have a Dell Inspiron 600m and its about 4 years old. If anyone could help I would be greatful.

Hi .

Probably the best thing to do is to read the following guidance from Dell: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/glo...;l=en&s=gen

From what I see, you should have had a restore partition. If you eliminated that, I have no idea whether your "install CD" will work or not. The guidance provided by Dell appears to be as much as I myself can personally do.
