Windows defender located and removed Backdoor:Win 32/Agent and then in another scan Adware: Win32/Baictron
Stinger 1000082 removed backdoor:winNT/Rustock.E

The virus started after clicking on a file on 1/26/09 at 1:20 PM

I am unable to use the internet to log into any virus/virus related websites, it just redirects whatever url I type in to google so I am unable to do a scan. I disabled the network. The security center service can't be started and says the security center service is turned off. If I click to turn it on Windows Security Center popup says The security center service can't be started.

I am unable to install virus removal apps. Nothing happens whether I select open or run as administrator.

When I start windows normally after the startup things run about 2-3 minutes, it shuts down with a blue screen that has a lot of text on it, but it flashes by so fast I can't read what it says and then restarts repeating the same thing. I have tried to install a scanner, but there isn't enough time before shutdown.

I can run in safe mode without the shutdown, but security is still off, and the apps won't install in safe mode. I have only been able to run scans in safe mode using stinger 1000082 and sometimes defender, but often that is not running. I am working on a different machine with a jump drive to access this forum.

I would appreciate any help. Thanks!
