OK...what sort of errors are reflected in Event Viewer...since the onset of your problems?

How To Use Event Viewer - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/40108/how-to-use-event-viewer/

What does the 5-beep code mean, according to your BIOS beep codes?

In your first post it shows the BIOS to be a 113-AA86503-103 which means the BIOS is AMI.

5 beeps means that the CPU has failed.

am i correct in saying that the cpu is sat under the heat sink ???? because if so i have had the heat sink off to clean it and the fan also off the heat sink to clean that aswell do u think that is what the problem is ?????

Hi scotland27.
Normally there is no need to seperate the heatsink from the cpu just to clean the heatsink itself.
If you do, you must clean both surfaces and re-apply thermal compound between the two or you'll cook the cpu.
If you removed the cpu itself you have to be careful you don't bend\break any of the pins when you re-install it.
If you bent\broke a pin, the problem would have surfaced immedietly on the first reboot. If you did this and some time has passed before this issue occured, the cpu may be done due to overheat, which can take place anywhere from minutes or longer. Take it back apart and check\do the above. I wouldn't use it anymore until you're done. Your motherboard error most likely reflects the AMI beep code\cpu error above. One should keep in mind though that many OEM's use a customized bios and the standard bios beep codes don't always apply. In this case it's not coincidence however.
Let us know.

Did you reapply thermal compound to the PCU before you reassembled the heat sink? If not this could be causing a over heating situation. This could be one of the problems. I say one of them because the Event Viewer repeatedly show the Event ID: 101. I'm trying to get some assistance on this and I will get back to you.

You do not, repeat... do not need to disassemble the heat sink or remove the CPU in the cleaning process.

hello there

ok from now on i will not remove the heat sink when cleaning the comp, but i have to re-apply the thermal compound which my local pc repair shop has NONE of and i have to wait until he orders it in, so that may be like tomorrow or the next day before i can re-apply the thermal compound, but if you are still waiting on some assistance with some of my issues then take ure time m8 because i will try the shop tomorrow again to see if they have it in yet. However if you want to just get this done and dusted i will be on this laptop most of the day on and off, and i will try and get the problem pc to boot and that may take some time if at all.. thanx again

It's normal for 1 beep to sound after POST when all is well.

I don't see anything in your Event Viewer logs that really merits concern, IMO. IMO, that's a pretty good set of log sheets.

I would suggest that you run chkdsk /r on the hard drive, that may help alleviate the perceived slow boot.

Start/Run...type chkdsk /r (with a space between the k and /) and hit Enter. In response to the onscreen query, type Y and hit Enter. Reboot the system, let the command run to completion. System will reboot when chkdsk is done.
