I have been trying to remove System Security malware from my computer and so far I have not had any success. Some links referred me to SpyHunter but ater I had purchased it the program did not remove System Security. Other sites including this one recommned Malwarebytes anti-malware software. I finally downloaded mbam-setup on my desktop. I actually had problems doing that as every time I went to a website that referred to malware removal Explorer or Mozilla just crashed. Probably System Security crashed them, I don't know.
I finally have mbam-setup on my desktop and want to run the installation. But it simply does not start. It displays a screen to select language but as I select English or any other language it flashes something and ends. I tried installing it in a safe mode but that did not help either.
Has anyone come across this problem? What are my options?
If there is another way to remove System Security without manually going through registry entries and files, please, let me know.
Thanks in advance!

Some types of malware will disable MBAM and other security tools. If MBAM will not install, try renaming it. Right-click on the mbam-setup.exe file and change the .exe extension to .bat, .com, .pif, or .scr and then double-click on it to run.

If after installation, MBAM will not run, open the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware folder in Program Files, right-click on mbam.exe and change the .exe as noted above. Then double-click on it to run..

Another work around is by not using the mouse to install it, Just use the arrow keys, tab, and enter keys.

Now that your log is properly posted, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a HJT Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show it the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the HJT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the HJT Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another HJT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

If after 5 days you still have received no response, then post a link to your HJT log in the thread titled "Post in this thread when you haven't received an answer in five days.".

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic.
