Researching you problem has turned up a number of possible causes. You may have a bad video card or driver, failing memory, or an adapter that isn't seated properly. So... try reseating you adapters first.

Try to boot your computer in Safe Mode
Look at the Event Viewer. Click Start => Run ==>type in EventVwr.msc
There are three folders - Application / Security / System. Look for any error messages (note the ones with the ! symbol) for any error messages at the time of shutdown, and note the details.
