When I first did the initial setup of my new laptop last year, during the setup i was asked to create a user account. i set one up with a password. Im the only one who uses the laptop and do not need this anymore. I want to know how do I make my laptop start up like a desktop. I want to turn it on and it goes right to desktop. If i have to delete user accounts to do this will it keep the files in that account? Will there be any administrative problems if i do this or will that aspect be eliminated and not prompt any administrative needs?

Hi, don't deleate the account but you will have to remove the password. Go to user accounts in control panel and do it from there.

You don't have to delete the password. Go to Start and type in "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
In the next screen you'll see a box with a checkmark that says "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer."
Remove the checkmark, click Apply, confirm your password, and click OK a couple of times to exit the dialog.
Then next reboot should go directly to your desktop.
