Hi,

I am having a problem as follows:

A popup window appears saying that Windows Firewall has detected suspicious software named Win32.zaf1.b and asking me if I want to download a program to activate protection. Also, I have Norton Internte Security loaded and from time to time it pops up and says that it has detected downloader.MisleadApp trying to access the internet and has stopped this.

Here is my DDS.txt log:

Hi,

I just wanted to let you know that this item can be closed. I was able to resolve it by following basic instructions posted by member Hoov in thread http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ind...p;hl=virtumonde. Basically, I ran Malawarebyte's Anti-Malware first, which found and repaired 7 infectons. Then I ran CCleaner. And finally, I did an online scan using Kapersky which found everything clean.

These instructions were very thorough and useful.

Thanks.
