Hi,

I have an Hp 530 laptop which is about 2 years old . It used to work fine untill al of a sudden, it kept on turning off. Now, every time i want to use it, i have to keep it connected to the charger. As soon as i take the charger out, (although the battery says that it is fully charged), it shuts down in like 3 or 5 mins max.

Could the batteries be faulty?
Thanks!

More than likely the battery has lost its ability to hold a charge. Not uncommon but not nice either. :flowers:

I had a Dell laptop with the same problem. I got a battery off of ebay for $50 and it helped for a while but within 6 months if I left the thing turned off for a few days it would discharge totally.

 Moral of story is: Buy a factory approved battery, maybe even with a decent warranty.

Good luck.

I'll do that.
Cheers!
