I had a new computer and new Hard drive, I installed Windows XP(orig) and before I could get sp2 installed auto updates came pouring in. I had about 20-30 fail, and I tried to get sp2 installed so I could go to microsoft to install sp3, then let the auto updates come in. But I can't get the sp2 to load, I have the microsoft disc. I goes to the end, but says couldn't be installed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. (I'm a novice)

Hi .

First thing I suggest: Click Start/right-click on My Computer and select Properties. What does it read for your Windows version?

Have you prepared your system for installing SP2?

Worth reading: http://support.microsoft.com/xpsp2getinstall
