Hi all:

I'm new in this. May be my english is so bad cause i´m not english speaker, i'm southamerican.

This is my problem, i must download information using Oracle Odbc, for this i have edited my hosts file with the ip hosts adresses of all company servers. One week ago my applications are not working cause the servers are not responding. All services work, but using the ping command can´t find the servers. If i use the ping command with ip adresses the servers respond but if i use the ping command with the names used in hosts file, they not respond. this is my Hijackthis report

I want you to fix some of those entries. Please do the following:

Please make sure that you can view all hidden files. Instructions on how to do this can be found here:

How to see hidden files in Windows

Run Hijackthis again, click scan, and Put a checkmark next to each of these. Then click the Fix button
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {0494D0D9-F8E0-41ad-92A3-14154ECE70AC} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SVCHOST] C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe 0
O16 - DPF: {11111111-1111-1111-1111-111111113456} - file://c:\info6_s.cab
O21 - SSODL: System - {ABF49450-A698-4BEA-A918-701B320180E8} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\system32.dll (file missing)

Reboot your computer into Safe Mode and delete the following files:

Then delete these files or directories (Do not be concerned if they do not exist)
C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\system32.dll

Disable System Restore. You can find instructions on how to enable and reenable system restore here:

Managing Windows Millenium System Restore
or

Windows XP System Restore Guide

Renable system restore with instructions from tutorial above

Reboot your computer to go back to normal mode and post a new log.

Click on start, then run, and type the following and press enter:

notepad c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

When notepad opens up, paste the contents into a reply to this post.

so from a command prompt, if you type ping bogota, you get no replies. Yet if you ping 132.147.160.3 you get some replies?
