Hi all. I'm a more than average computer user with a little more than novice knowledge. I've just recently had a battle with the Vundo virus and I'm keeping my guard up in case of a return. Anyway I have a question about Combofix, but I am not sure where to post. Basically it asked me to update and then none of my shortcuts would work afterwards. It just lost all of the file extensions. I would like to post in the correct forum so if you could please advise I would appreciate it!

Probably the best place to post about this would be here:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/25/antivirus-firewall-and-privacy-products-and-protection-methods/

even though I suspect your real question would be how to repair the damage caused, apparently, by Combofix. If, after posting, there is a better place for it, a Moderator can easily move it to a more appropriate forum.

Welcome to BC!

John
