registration and install of xp home edition

windows 98 keeps throwing out error messages at me. It seems to happen at the middle of registration can any body help I need to get alot of work done and I cannot do It on win98. thx chuck

Are you booting to the cd or dvd in the drive?

I have the operating disc with the product key codes. I'll tell ya right after I finished typing In this problem my computer went Into shut down on It's ownand took for ever to finaly shut down. and I have spent the rest of the between then and now trying to get back on line. I had to totally re-boot 98 just to do that I reallly appreiciate your help. this comp about tu set a new air and land speed record traveling to the la dump!!!!

I guess that I don't know why Win 98 would spew error messages for any attempted install of XP...unless you are trying to install XP from within Win 98. If I am misinterpreting, pardon my error.
