I have looked everywhere to find a PS3 Linux, Unfortunately every time I download a packet the PS3 cannot find it. I have looked on every website, and it says download this ftp file. I have no idea... Please tell me where I could find it without directing me to an ftp site, or giving me instructions on how to use one.

If you are an experienced Linux user these two sites will guide you.
Installing Linux onto your Sony PS3

PS3 Linux World

If you are not familiar with Linux,
I recommend you download a LiveCD distro such as PCLinuxOS, Knoppix, or Ubuntu
and get familiar with Linux before attempting a PS3 install.

The "packet" you are downloading is most likely an ISO image. (ex:linuxdistro.iso)
You need to burn the ISO to CD. (not copied)

How to burn ISO

Current systems: WHAT OS, BackTrack-raw, PCLinuxOS, Peppermint OS 6, Kali Linux

and a custom Linux From Scratch server hosting a bunch of top secret stuff.

My friend has sucessfully managed to install Fedora 10 on his PS3. You may want to try that out. Good luck!

Kind Regards,
