anybody got any ideas as to how one can restore the volume control icon to the windows xp taskbar. I have attempted to restore this icon to its location using the normal means - control panel - sounds and audio devices - place volume in taskbar. Still no luck.

Hi .

You might try #320 at http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm . These are safe files to run, a very knowledgeable, reliable source.
