I am unable to successfully download freeware programs
from several sites

For example, in attempting to download "TextAloud 2,
from the 'Giveaway of the Day site
( http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/textaloud-2/)

I clicked 'Download', the 'File Download' window appeard
with the following choices:

Open - Save - Cancel

When I click the 'Open' choice, the following
window appears:

TextAloud2[3] - Notepad

I then end up with the following:

PK <-:մ{2 2 Setup.exeXSM8 boX!4+*
>T+|xjB5lFޘ=#Cg5+3 B|&i`h1F#Sj9mxwm\1&ƈӒJp6p 1CayV<XcrhOMX

טCب6<21u6F"5Һi mBUu%E.zYzs:FHgRl'

Should I click the 'Save' choice, and later
open the file, I end uf with the same above

I would be most grateful for any assistance you might
provide me.

Although I have limited computer experience, I
can follow step-by-step instructions in making

1) In IE - try right-click on the download link and choose "save target as"
2) The first freebie i would suggest you to download is Mozilla Firefox
