UPDATE/REVISION OF MY ORIGINAL QUESTION/ISSUE
after reading a few of these topics with similar issues i am hoping that my only problem is the power supplie. i looked and the one currently on the PC has a maximum output of 200W.
i am wondering if installing new software will stress out the power supply. this may seem like a lame question to some but i am a novice. the only thing different was the addition of a fairly large software program.
now, i am feeling overwhelmed at the prospect of wading through all of the steps described to test the power issue.
how big a job is it to find a compatible power supply and install it?
i am fairly handy but this is new territory for me.
