Does anyone know how to update to SP3 on an HP computer with an AMD processor, without it screwing it all up. On my other laptop, I updated to SP3 couldn't boot afterwords just keep recycling from the windows xp loading screen, shut down and boot up. HP couldn't fix it, so they sent me a new laptop. I don't want to update this time until I make sure it won't happen again. Any suggestions?

yes, see

jesper's blog

it's on that page further down. Or call HP and ask for the update for that particular problem. I think they have one now. Either way you run the code BEFORE installing sp3.

I may be wrong but it seems your link is broken, it is linking to http://http://msinfluentials.com/blogs/jesper/default.aspx

Here is the link > Jesper's

P.S. - I have tried his VB fix and it works well.
