Here's my situation.

I am running a dell inspiron 1520 with a intel 395abg proset wireless network card, on XP Home, SP3. Over the past week, I was infected with Spyware Guard 2008 AND MS antivirus 2009. came to this site, I'd been here before when I got ahold of virtumundo about 8 months ago (how do I keep getting these viruses-Irresponsible use of bitTorrent, which i have since stopped). I digress. I used malware bites antimalware to get back to clean, and my network connection worked fine for about a day after I was disinfected. I then downloaded the windows live onecare virus software package, and then went to reset my router. My linksys WRT54G router reset itself-it reaches a max number of connections and I have to power it off/reset it. I powered it back on, and then after I did, all network related services for windows no longer worked. I was unable to even go into control panel and setup a new network connection. Device manager shows I have the lan jack and the wireless card, but if I click on start-network connections, the area is blank-no LAN, no firewire, no wireless connection. Trying to get the new network setup doesnt work, no matter which radio button I choose for network connection type, the "next" button doesn't advance me anywhere. The intel proset wireless diagnostic says there's an error with DHCP on the router end, but windows network diagnostic gives me the following error, which I have copied and pasted below. Looking up the hex error code, I found a .NET framework related error on microsofts knowledgebase, followed the five pages of instructions on deactivating/reactivating windows installer and repairing/reinstalling the 2.0 framework. Still get the error. The only thing I haven't tried is physically jacking the laptop into the router/dsl modem, but thats the next step. Anyway, here's the code.

Last diagnostic run time: 01/11/09 10:25:52

ANY IDEAS?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I tried to run a video for a course I am teaching today, and I can see the video, but attempting to run sound control, or adjusting the volume at all brings up a similar error to the networking error that says the neccessary services are not installed for that function to operate, and they need to be reinstalled.
