Just got an invite to join MySpace. I thought I once read that it can be dangerous to my system's security?
Anyone here know about MySpace?
Thanks

I have a myspace, there are a ton of ads on people's pages that have layouts. Myspace in itself isn't dangerous for your computer, but clicking on 3rd party ads, visiting people's myspaces' and clicking on ads can all be a danger.

So how is it that malware be a part of a person's myspace page? My daughter sent me the invite,I don't want to hurt her feelings. But....I do want to warn her of the potential of malware. Where exactly can I go to read up on Myspace?
Thank you

Hi honu1,

Not really my cup of tea, but you can read about the dangers of using MySpace HERE.

Because "social networking" sites are aimed at a certain audience, a large percentage of which are usually not very computer savvy or security conscious, they will always be a popular place for the authors of Malware.

Hope this helps.
