I used to be able to do a system restore without a problem, now I can't get it to restore to a previous date. My system restore settings are enabled and I am clicking on a bold date. Anyone know why?

With WinME you can do a system restore in Windows or DOS. The only problem with DOS is there is no Command Prompt Only in the DOS menu. As your computer is starting up keep the CTRL press until you see the DOS menu with Safe Mode in there, or keep dabbing the F8 key on startup. So you would need to use a WinME or Win98SE boot disk. Once it starts up type in cd c:\windows\command and enter. Once in there type Scanreg /restore with a sace in between and select a previous date to restore too.

I've just read the same report on your other post. What system do you have WinME or WinXP?
