Several web pages I have tried to look at show only a red cross in a small square instead of links. I have 3 machines all running the same software and only one has this problem. Do I need a special plug in or something in order to see the info and click the link?

Tools/internet options/security/custom and make sure you have enabled active x controls.

The red + usually denotes a picture that hasn't been opened.
Right click on the red +, click properties and try to access the address of the pic directly.
