Does Microsoft Clear-Type effect my performance on my pc? Would it slow it down over time?

Normally its usually disabled when I use the computer, but I'm starting to like how everything looks now. Normally I do this

1. Start
2. Right Click My computer
3. Click Proprieties
4. Click advanced tab
5. Click settings under performance
6. click adjust pc for best performance

and when I usually do this Clear-Type is disabled? Does this really mean it can effect my performance?

I think the gain far outweighs the small drop in performance (if any) I go a step further and enhance clear type with clear tweak from www.ioisland.com. Try it, you'll like it!
