The dialog boxes on various programs have become oversized, beyond screen resolution. This creates a problem for a variety of rather obvious reasons.

This has been an unexpected development and I can think of no reason that it has happened as everything I've done has been as I've always done it. No weird installs or anything unusual.

I checked that the video drivers were up to date and even did an uninstall/reinstall of them, to no avail.

Has anyone ever seen this before? Images of the problem are attached.

Windows XP-sp3
Nvidia Quadro NVS 55/280

Please let me know if any other information might be needed to solve this one. I'm getting ready to just start over and wipe/reinstall everything.

TIA

Have you tried a System Restore back to before this problem started?

I am apparently unable to "System Restore" to an early enough time in order to make the problem disappear.

However, I'm not exactly sure when the problem started because it only crops up with certain programs or dialog boxes; not everything is affected.

You could try reinstalling your video driver.

I've updated the video drivers already to the point of uninstalling and then reinstalling and to no avail. It almost seems that it is device independent because it does not happen with every program, just certain ones. Also the text on the "Windows Shutdown" pop-up is oversized to the point of only disappearing out the top and right sides. I've checked the theme settings and the appearance settings many times over and that also does not seem to be the issue.

Right click on an empty area of the Desktop and select "Properties"
Then select the Settings tab.
Adjust the Screen Resolution slider to see if that fixes it.

Check the settings on all the tabs and buttons to see if anything else has been changed.
