I just reformatted by computer, which was running windows xp, and attempted to reinstall windows xp on my computer. I rebooted my computer with a windows xp professional cd and ran from it. However, after i accept the terms and agreement it says: "setup could not read the cd you insterted, or the cd is not a valid windows cd." I have restarted my comptuer with the cd in it with no luck.

The cd was being read earlier so i don't believe thats the problem, but i could be wrong. Also, its a valid cd (at least to my knowledge).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try carefully cleaning the CD with a soft dry cloth.

If that doesn't work you could try one of those drive cleaning kits to clean the laser in your CD drive.
The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who haven't got it.
