My family has a dsl modem router in the master bedroom. And whenever someone would casually open the door to the bathroom there, the wireless connection would drop for like 25 seconds, before being okay again. It's a bit frustrating when gaming or chatting.

I tried moving the modem to my room to see if anything would change(although the phone cord was still attached to the phone jack in the master bedroom). So yeah, the same thing happens when I'm wired directly.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.

Wow that is really strange. The modem should not do that if you are connected through wireless and you have the modem in your room/ other room. You might want to move the modem to another jack. There might be some kind of cable problem in the walls, such as any type of interferance/alarm system.
