I am 62 years old. Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. Have lived other places, but am back now in Jacksonville. So that takes care of that.

Otherwise, I am that rarity, at least it is a rarity if you "listen" to all the tech boards, that is not completely clueless about computers. I got my first computer back in 1990. It was a Tandy 1000. And since then, although I have never been to any classes or taken any courses, I have learned a thing or two about computers. Have even managed to put a few together. But my knowledge has been limited by how much time I have had as well as money. Couldn't always afford to buy that latest gadget.

Here lately I have been working at this small community center, helping both adults and adults with computers among other things; and, occasionally a computer comes my way with problems where I feel a bit out of my depth, or at least where I haven't got the time to bumble around until I figure out what the you know what they did to that computer. So I thought I would join a few discussion groups that maybe can help me out.
