Hi everyone - can you help me find where I should post a log report I have from using ComboFix Just now? (This machine is running Windows XP).

Thanks in advance.

Hi there :D

This is the right forum: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/22/virus-trojan-spyware-and-malware-removal-logs/

Just copy the log and paste it in a new thread. Also: read the guidelines or instructions pinned on top of the forum. That will tell you what other logs might be needed. Good luck!

This is a link to the guidelines, that you will need: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/34773/preparation-guide-for-use-before-using-malware-removal-tools-and-requesting-help/

A couple of caveats/warnings here:

:inlove: ComboFix should not be used without the assistance of a trained anti-malware expert (this caveat is included in the ComboFix tutorial)

:flowers: The proper place to post questions about infected computers is in the Am I Infected forum located here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/103/am-i-infected-what-do-i-do/

 Often infected computers can be cleaned without the use of HiJackThis. The number of HiJackThis logfiles being worked in the HiJackThis forum is enormous! If a HiJackThis (or other scan) is needed, the team members in the Am I Infected forum will recommend it.

:trumpet: Our prep guide has changed and we don't use HiJackThis as a part of it. If you post a HiJackThis log outside of the HiJackThis forums, it'll be moved to the Misplaced HJT Logs forum with a request that you properly complete the steps in the prep guide.

 As ePost mentioned, the link for preparation of a log is located here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/34773/preparation-guide-for-use-before-using-malware-removal-tools-and-requesting-help/
