Hello to whom ever is going to be helping me, I have a very insideous infection. If I try to open SUPERAntiSpyware I get the following message. "SPUPERAntiSpyware has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry tor the inconveience. If you were the middle of something, the infromation you were working on might be lost." It goes on to suggest that I inform Microsoft of this problem.

When I try to open Malwarebytes the hours glass shows for about a second and then disapears without anything happening. I had the same results with Spybot Search and Destroy.

I was able to update and run scans with A-squared, I couldn't get an update for Adaware but was able to run scans with both of these. There were not serious threats found, only tracking cookies.

If I go on line and try to do a scan with Trend Micro's House call the connection gets brocken, and this has happend with all of the scans listed below.

http://housecall.trendmicro.com
http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/solutions/activescan/
http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner Scan Only - no removal
http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html

http://onlinescan.avast.com/
http://ca.com/us/securityadvisor/virusinfo/scan.aspx
http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/

I also can't update my AVG 7.5, but I haven't googled this to see if they have finally stopped the updates for it.

I'm also experiencing crashes with Firefox, it started out crashing after about five minutes of being here at BC, now it crashes immediately, this is the 3.0 version.

" Mozilla Crash Reporter

We're Sorry

Firefox had a problem and crashed. We will try to restore your tabs and windows when it is restarted."

They go on from there to ask to have the report sent.

I'm now beginning to wonder if Firefox is corrupted, I have no problem with IE as I'm using it now.

This is all that I've noticed so far.

One of the nice things about being on staff here is that I know the level of professionalism which the HJT member subscribe to, I look forward to your help with this problem.

Regards,

Dan (dc3)
