my computter will not boot into widows

I removed my cover to air clean the dust out my computer and it has not started since. I have tried to reinstall windows and the recovery disk that startes that they can not find a hard disk.I place a external hard drive and try to install the windows disk on it. it said I may have a virus I don't know what to do please help

You have disconnected the cable from the hard drive by accident. Before working in your computer: Ensure that the work surface is flat and clean to prevent the computer cover from being scratched.
To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as a connector on the back of the computer).

Assure that the hard drive is plugged in. If it is not plugged in, then plug it in with a correct fitted cable and the power cable.
