I sweep my pc weekly for viruses, spyware, etc, in safe mode. I scanned with avast!, Spybot S&D1.3, Microsoft Anti-spyware Beta, Ad-aware SE Personal and Ewido Anti-Trojan. Ewido found and cleaned 'Backdoor.Superstar.21 in [C:\WINDOWS\system32\actskin4.ocx].

Is it completely gone? Is there a need for me to delete my restore points. What does Backdoor do?

When you find infections and clean them, you should stop and start the system restore so that you do not possibly reinfect yourself with a restore in the future.

I think this was a false positive. When ewido cleaned this infection my avast GUI could not load. I went to the avast! website and replaced whatever was cleaned. The GUI worked, I ran ewido again, again it flagged and cleaned the same item. And again the avast! could not load. So I went to virus chest and restored the file stored there and the GUI[avast] worked. So I have left Ewido alone for the moment, until the next update. Thanks.
