Hi everyone and thank you very much for putting this forum in place and having all of you generously helping us with the malware nightmares.

Here's my problem:

lately, my computer has beeen running slowly. 2 days ago, My desktop backgroud has become blue and I couln't change it. Moreover, I could no longer open my task manager.

I did some search online and downloaded a program that fixed something in the registry and since then I'm able to open the task manager but I'm still not able to change the background.

I scanned with AVG, houscall, panda but I found nothing.

When I scanned with spybot I found spybot-c and win32.winlagon.co among other things.

What should I do now? Is this serious?

Here's a hijackthis log and thank you very much in advance :

Hello and welcome to BC forums.

As I'm sure you have noticed, the HJT forum is super-busy. If you still have issues, please do the following. And if you have resolved the problem, Please reply to advise us of that.

You will want to print out or copy these instructions to Notepad for Safe Mode/offline reference!
These steps are for member soylov only. If you are a lurker, do NOT try this on your system!
If you are not soylov and have a similar problem, do NOT post here; start your own topic

Do not run or start any other programs while these utilities and tools are in use!
Do NOT run any other tools on your own or do any fixes other than what is listed here.
If you have questions, please ask before you do something on your own.
But it is important that you get going on these following steps.
=
Start Spybot S&D, go to the Mode menu and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected.
On the left hand side, click on Tools, then click on the Resident Icon in the list.
Uncheck the "Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of overall system settings) active." box.
Click on the "System Startup" icon in the List
Uncheck the "TeaTimer" box and "OK" any prompts.
If Teatimer gives you a warning that changes were made, click the "Allow Change" box when prompted.
Exit Spybot S&D when done.

=
Download to your Desktop FixPolicies.exe, by Bill Castner, MS-MVP, a self-extracting ZIP archive from here:
http://cid-6aaab341ce47c5c2.skydrive.live....licies.exe

  • Click the "Install" button on the bottom toolbar of the box that will open.
  • The program will create a new Folder called FixPolicies.
  • Double-click to Open the new Folder, and then double-click the file within: Fix_Policies.cmd.
  • A black box will briefly appear and then close.
  • This fix may prove temporary. Active malware may revert these changes at your next startup. You can safely run the utility again.
=

Be sure to do a Preview prior to pressing Submit because all reports may not fit into 1 single reply. You may have to do more than 1 reply.
Do not use the attachment feature to place any of your reports. Always put them in-line inside the body of reply.
