Good afternoon everyone,

this is my first post, so I hope to comply with all the rules and to be in the right place. If not, I do apologise in advance for that.

Since a few weeks, my laptop has become very unstable. I get most of the problems when trying to start it: it hangs or I get a blue screen during booting or login. I have already run an extensive memory test, so I would tend to exclude a HW problem. When I manage to boot and login successfully, I get problems mostly with Internet Explorer (redirections after Google search, it hangs rather often).

My normal Antivirus (VirusScan Enterprise 8.0.0 by McAfee) detected (and declated to have removed) a few trojans but all problems described above were still there. I then installed Spybot, which found (and declated to have removed) the following:

Smitfraud-C.gp: [SBI $8E7F06B8] Ausführbare Datei (Datei, nothing done)
C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe

Win32.Agent.sd: [SBI $2968F182] Einstellungen (Registrierungsdatenbank-Schlüssel, nothing done)
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1715567821-1708537768-839522115-1003\Software\{NSINAME}

Win32.Agent.sd: [SBI $72640A46] Programm-Verzeichnis (Verzeichnis, nothing done)
c:\resycled\

Win32.Agent.sd: [SBI $8DCCA8F7] Daten (Datei, nothing done)
c:\resycled\boot.com

But again, all problems above persist...

The log file of HijackThis is attached.

I'll be very grateful for any hint!

Regards,
Sandro

Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer my name is BHowett and I will be helping you get sorted.

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help.

If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know.

If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine. If you have not done so, include a description of your problem, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results, click no to the Optional_Scan
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run.
After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection.
Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.
