Windows 7 and a Bit of Microsoft Strategy

Nope. No commentary this time. Article speaks for itself.

Perhaps I should add: Licenses available, but won't be for sale. That deadline is still January of 09 for vendors.

(Quote) Microsoft's CEO Steve Ballmer recently told the world that "Windows 7 will be Vista, but a lot better." "But another way to read Ballmer's comment is that Windows 7 will be 'Vista plus fixes' rather than wide-ranging core changes". (Unquote)

Hmmm . wouldn't it be lovely if Windows simply admitted the hiccups and offered to fix all of them - free - to all owners of Vista. Fix things, don't charge customers for a new operating system that is what their version should have been in the first place?
Never let your computer realize you are in a hurry or just typing the last few words of a vital document.

While outer events might make one happy or sad, happiness itself is entirely internal, and at all times completely within one's power.

 :flowers: :trumpet: :inlove:  :) :P

That'll be the day! If Microsoft (or, indeed, any commercial software company) did that, they'd NEVER make any money! The whole industry is centered around making software that are just good enough to keep people from going somewhere else but bad enough that they'll "upgrade" to the latest version.

That's all well and good for buying it, but what's the expiration date of support from Microsoft?
