Running:

Windows XP Service Pack 3
Internet Explorer (newest version I assume)
AVG Free
Spybot S&D
Spyware Blaster
Ad-Aware
Malware Bytes
HiJack This

I keep the virus protection up-to-date and run scans frequently. I do download music through uTorrent and surf the net using IE (no porn sites and weird sites).

Past:

Was infected with Trojan/Vundo virus a few months ago. Was getting popups and got help from the bleepingcomputer forums. Used combofix and hijack this logs to slowly get the computer running up to par and free of problems for a few months.

Present:

Noticed when I tried to update AVG that it wouldn't--got a message that said the website could not be found. I then tried to update Ad-Aware to see if both had problems, and it to gave a similar message. Then opened IE and googled something. Hovered mouse of the result and no website at the bottom. When clicked got a popup. Could enter in website at the top and get the right page; HOWEVER, certain sites would NOT work (get the "this page does not exist" page. bleeping computer, majorgeeks, and other sites that I wanted to go to for help would not work (along with websites for avg, spybot, etc for updates).

Restarted computer and then tried to run Malwarebytes, but it would no longer load. Spybot S&D would also not load. After restarting again, computer would freeze at the Windows XP start page to choose user.

Restarted in safe mode, but Malwarebytes and Spybot still wouldn't load. Not sure what to do at this point. I am now on another computer asking for any advice. I appreciate ANY help I can get and have been MORE than happy with the help I got from bleepingcomputer in the past.

I am now going to download combofix on this computer and put on my flashdrive and follow the directions from bleeping computer. I'll update as soon as I can. Thank you in advance guys!!!

ComboFix logs should not to be posted outside the HijackThis forums. It is an extremely powerful tool which should only be used when instructed to do so by someone who has been properly trained. ComboFix is intended by its creator to be "used under the guidance and supervision of an expert", NOT for private use. Please read Combofix's Disclaimer. Using this tool incorrectly could lead to disastrous problems with your operating system such as preventing it from ever starting again.

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
Do not send me PMs with problems that should be posted in the forums. Keep it in the forums, so everyone benefits
