I am currently running Windows XP Home. Every few minutes I receive pop ups from Windows Security Center that tells me that the unregistered version of Antivirus Plus needs updating. To my knowledge I have not downloaded this program, although there is an icon on the desktop. It may have downloaded while surfing the web. I want to remove this program but it does not show up when I list the add/remove programs under the control panel. How can I remove this program.

Here's a link on how to remove Antivirus Plus: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/malware-re...-antivirus-plus

But I'm not an antimalware expert, so I'd suggest following the steps in this blog post to see if you're still infected: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/blogs/usas...?showentry=1252
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
